People who have already been there and done that, " said Lee, who will fight Tony Ferguson in the main event Saturday.

Ferguson, who now possesses the highest win percentage in UFC history with a 12-1 record in the octagon, goes into tonight's bout as the favourite (10/23 with Ladbrokes at the time of writing). Bibulatov joined the UFC and made his debut earlier this year at UFC 210, outpointing Jenel Lausa. It was the ideal introduction for the 135-pound prospect, and was a very important first step on his journey towards glory in the UFC. A win would also extend his unbeaten streak to 13.

All controversy aside, this fight was a fantastic display of Kevin Lee's elite-level grappling and fight IQ.

"El Cucuy" also commented on Lee's claim that the interim title they're fighting for is actually the real 155-pound title (which is now held by Conor McGregor). It's got a relatively strong lineup of fights from top-to-bottom, but the Lee-Ferguson matchup really is the big selling point.

Kevin Lee has a lot of work to do before his first crack at UFC gold.

Last week, in a Q&A in Ireland, McGregor stated he was interested in facing the victor of the UFC 216 main event which has put an added significance to the fight.

"I'm one of the most ruthless vatos out there".

Ferguson, 33, (23-3) is rolling into UFC 216, winning nine consecutive fights, six by stoppage. He hopes to grow on the streak this Saturday as I have mentioned earlier in this article. Lee main card on UFC.TV for $59.99.

Nurmagomedov's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, told The Times on Friday that Nurmagomedov can be ready to fight the victor of Ferguson-Lee at UFC 219 in Las Vegas in late December. Twelve consecutive wins in the octagon have led to labelling of "Mighty Mouse" as the greatest of all time. It's not hard to see why everyone involved has he incentive to push through this fight no matter what, especially since they can't figure out how to market their best fighter, who's fighting in the co-main event alongside Ferguson and Lee.

That remains Ferguson's lone loss in the organization, and he was supposed to fight the unbeaten Nurmagomedov (24-0) for the interim belt at UFC 209 on March 4, but his opponent suffered from an extreme weight cut and was forced to withdraw.

The showdown takes place at the T-Mobile Arena, just metres away from where Stephen Paddock slaughtered more than 50 people and injured over 500.
