Eagles trade for Miami running back Jay Ajayi

Former Boise State All-American running back Jay Ajayi was traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Philadelphia Eagles for a fourth-round draft pick, on Tuesday morning.

Over the course of the season, Ajayi registered three 200-yard rushing games, becoming just the fourth player in National Football League history to accomplish the feat.

"We gotta stop trying to hit the home runs all the time", said Gase.

In Philadelphia, Ajayi joins a crowded backfield that also includes LeGarrette Blount, Wendell Smallwood, Corey Clement and Kenjon Barner. "That's on the running back".

Ajayi, 24, was Miami's starting running back and was originally drafted by the Dolphins in the fifth round in 2015. Not only does it help the team for this season, but it could also help the Eagles in the future as well. The end seemed near when Dolphins head coach Adam Gase called him out after a 40-0 loss last Thursday night, but there's no denying Ajayi has had a very disappointing season to this point (3.4 yards per carry, zero touchdowns). After the 2018 season, he will become a free agent, but if fans have learned one thing this year, it's that young talent is enough to attract star player to the city.

The addition of Ajayi could be huge as they kick off the second half of the season at 7-1.
