Stevie Nicol and Alexis Nunes square off at predicting the top fixtures from the Europa League.

"I wish him to score as many goals as Benzema with the French national team". "He's a little bit in conflict in this position with Ozil and Sanchez".

"I wanted to give him six months not to think about that and see where we go".

Despite a lack of first-team football with Arsenal, Wenger believes England should recall the midfielder.

Jack Wilshere is more valuable playing higher up the pitch, says Arsene Wenger. Everybody in the medical department just says he's exceptional.

"Today he was much better, he will have a test at the end of the week", Wenger said during his Wednesday's press conference ahead of their Europa League matchday-four clash against Red Star Belgrade at the Emirates on Thursday.

Arsenal have more quality than Red Star in their squad and were even able to make it count in the intimidating atmosphere of the Rajko Mitic two weeks ago. "I don't know how you can keep a super-fit Jack out of the England squad".

It has been over a year since Wilshere made his last England appearance; that came at Euro 2016 as the Three Lions were embarrassingly knocked out of the tournament by Iceland. Wilshere has never been picked by Southgate but is in contention for the forthcoming Wembley friendlies against Germany next Friday and Brazil the following Tuesday.

Asked if he had discussed Wilshere's England prospects with Southgate, Wenger replied: "Yes, I spoke to him about Jack before the Swansea game. It would be a positive as well because you have the World Cup and you have a new manager who has not used him yet, so that for certain would play a positive part in his head".

Despite his good form, however, Wilshere still has to wait another month before he finds out whether Arsenal will offer him a new contract. But yes, the aim is to clear up the situation before the transfer window opens.

"I said many times that would be decided in December", added Wenger.

The boss added: "We are all very pleased for him here because he has gone through some very hard moments with setbacks".
