Miss India Manushi Chhillar Wins Miss World 2017

Ms. Manushi is the sixth Indian to win the title and the first since Priyanka Chopra won the crown in 2000.

Celebrations broke out in Manushi Chhillar's native Bamnoli village near Rohtak while several ministers led by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar lavished praise after the 20-year-old was crowned Miss World 2017 at a grand event in China yesterday. Manushi Chhillar and the other four finalists had to face the question and answer round which would determine the Miss World. "Manushi was chosen to represent the country after winning the fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2017". "She has achieved that and we are all proud of her", Anjali and Muskan, her co-inmates in the medical college hostel, said. BJP should have realised that Indian cash dominates the globe: "look, even our Chhillar has become Miss World!" He posted on both Facebook and Twitter that he meant no offence to Chhillar with his jab at the central government.

It's been 17 years since the country has won the title, according to the Miss India twitter account, and the sixth time an Indian woman has been crowned the victor.

After winning a position among the top 5 contestants, Manushi was asked which profession deserved the biggest salary and why. To this, the daughter of doctor parents in Haryana aptly replied:"A mother deserves the highest respect". My mother has always been the biggest inspiration in my life. "So, I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the highest salary", Chhillar said to a wide-applause.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, who is an MLA from Haryana, also congratulated her.
