Man found hanging at Nahargarh Fort, anti-'Padmavati' messages found near body

In a awful, unpleasant incident which points toward that protests over Bollywood's most controversial film "Padmavati" have taken a deadlier turn, a body was found hanging from Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur, Rajasthan on Friday. In the pictures, the note can be seen written on the stone with charcoal.

The movie was scheduled to release on December 1, and has been postponed now.

The messages on stones at the Nahargarh Fort are not written for the makers of Padmavati, but for those protesting against the film, an India Today report found.

Interestingly, each message mentioned Padmavati. The deceased was identified as Chetan (22) on the basis of an Aadhaar card found in his pocket.

"We don't just hang effigies". One of the messages reads, "Padmavati ka virodh karne walo, hum kile par sirf putle nahi latkate". The suicide note seems to suggest that the man was upset over effigies of Padmavati being burnt in protests against the screening of the film.

The protest against Padmavati has intensified after Karni Sena issued threats of chopping off actress Deepika Padukone's nose if the film would be released.

Several politicians have already demanded a ban on the movie, while Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat, and Rajasthan have already refused to allow a release of the movie in the state.

Protesting right-wing groups say Padmavati insults an iconic Hindu queen.

Padmavati tells the story of Padmini, who is said to have killed herself to avoid being captured by Muslim emperor Alauddin Khilji.

Padmavati stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini alongside Shahid Kapoor who plays the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh.
