HTC U11 starts getting Oreo update in the US

HTC's Vice President of Product Management, Mo Versi has confirmed the rollout news on Twitter and even said that they're working with carriers such as Sprint to roll out the update as quickly as possible.

Taiwanese brand HTC is not the same brand which it was a few years ago, but the company is looking to get back into the game.

If you've got an unlocked HTC U11, watch for your Android 8.0 update starting tomorrow.

Disclosed over the weekend, owners of an unlocked HTC U11 are in for a treat this week.

It's been a lot rougher, though, for anyone else who uses a device from the huge library of Android-powered phones, but you're in luck if you're an owner of the unlocked version of the HTC U11.

LG launched the Oreo beta program a few weeks ago, and now the company has chose to roll out the preview version for its homeland, South Korea.

With Oreo on your phone, your world will be opened up to native Picture-in-Picture, notification dots, autofill, and much more. While we didn't hear anything from HTC itself, we knew other markets would follow soon.

Users of HTC U11 will also enjoy the generic ability of the Android Oreo OS to limit the background activity that is generated through the least used applications. When enquired about devices, Versi responded by adding that HTC U Ultra and HTC 10 will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The only downside with the smartphone is the bezels on the front, but the company recently launched a tweaked version of the U11, dubbed as HTC U11 Plus. You can also check for updates manually by going into Settings About Software updates Check now.
