Netflix renews Mindhunter for second season

Netflix has at last officially confirmed that Mindhunter will return for a second season. It follows the work of two Federal Bureau of Investigation agents (Groff and McCallany) in the criminal psychology department as they interview serial killers in prison, trying to understand the inner workings of their minds, choices, and behaviors. Featuring the tagline, "We need to talk to more subjects", the post includes a brief video clip highlighting the show's Rorschach test-like imagery.

Mindhunter stars Jonathan Groff as Holden Ford, Holt McCallany as Bill Tench, Anna Torv as Wendy Carr, Hannah Gross as Debbie Mitford and newcomer Cameron Britton as serial killer Edmund Kemper. To add an extra chill, the serial killers featured and portrayed on the show are real, and their crimes every bit as haunting as in the series.

Given that it was an immediate favorite among enthusiastic (and freaked out!) fans when the first season dropped, we have no doubt that people will be thrilled to learn that there are more creep-tastic stories coming from the Mindhunter folks for at least one more season.

Fincher, who also directed four episodes, has his other hit Netflix series, "House of Cards", on hiatus since the revelations of star Kevin Spacey's inappropriate behavoir. "It's meant to support what's happening with the show and for the show to evolve radically between seasons".

Season one of Mindhunter is streaming on Netflix now.

Are you looking forward to season two?
