Frisina's parents were overjoyed their daughter had been found after police issued several appeals for the missing teen and launched a search across state lines.

Columbia County deputies say Rodriquez is now charged with interference in child custody.

According to Murray Smith, the public relations officer for the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, the police believed that there was the "blossoming of a potential relationship", between Frisina and Rodriguez, ABC News reported.

New York State Police said the Sable then pulled into a parking lot in front of a Subway where Rodriguez and Frasina were taken into custody without incident. She had last been seen at her home Saturday night.

The 17-year-old, who played soccer at her Florida high school, may have been in a relationship with the assistant boys' soccer coach Rian Rodriguez, who was with Frisina in the vehicle when police intervened around 4 p.m. Friday. It's believed she had left voluntarily with him. Frisina has family in NY and Rodriguez has family in Canada and possibly Pennsylvania, Murray Smith, public information officer for the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, said. "We are emotionally drained, but we are absolutely elated to have her safe".

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office now says Caitlyn was found safe this afternoon, but did not immediately provide more information.

"Video from the store showed Rian and Caitlyn, which confirmed to us they were together", Hunter said.
