The family of Sydney Loofe, a 24-year-old Nebraska woman that had been missing since 15 November, have said her body has been recovered.

On Tuesday, their three-week search for the 24-year-old Nebraska woman came to a close with the discovery of a body in Clay County, about 90 miles from Loofe's Lincoln Home, per the Kansas City Star. She and her roommate, 51-year-old Aubrey Trail, are being considered "persons of interest" in Loofe's death.

"We believe that Aubrey Trail and Bailey Boswell were two of the last people to have known to have been with Sydney prior to her disappearance, and that's why they continue to be persons of interest in this investigation", Bliemeister said.

Ms Boswell and Mr Trail posted videos on social media last week proclaiming their innocence.

Trail says in the video that he wants to set the record straight, saying that reports that they were not cooperating with the investigation were false.

"We do believe that there is evidence of foul play" involved in the woman's death, added incoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister, but he wouldn't provide any specifics. "We love you Sydney". "Everything left in her house, points that she was".

Trail said in the video that he offered his support and prayers to the Loofe family.

In a second video-posted Friday before the pair turned themselves into authorities following an arrest warrant accusing Trail of being a felon in possession of a firearm-Trail denied his and Boswell's involvement in Loofe's disappearance.

Her disappearance ignited a search that captivated the Lincoln area and drew in resources from neighbouring law enforcement agencies and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

"It's with heavy hearts that we share this most recent update with you all.May God grant eternal rest unto thee".

Loofe vanished November 15 after going out with a 23-year-old woman named Bailey Boswell.

Authorities said Tuesday the body had been found in rural Clay County, not near a town.

Police said they were still working to confirm those details, according to the Daily Beast. But police said Boswell, 23, and Trail were still persons of interest. He sarcastically added that he is "just a criminal so you're going to believe" his claims. Both nights, she says she picked Loofe up at her home and the two drove around Lincoln smoking weed.

Loofe, a Neligh native, moved to Lincoln after graduating high school in 2011 as part of a transfer in her employment with Menards, her mother, Susie, said.

Bliemiester on Tuesday said investigators have explored the claims in the video extensively. "We were planning to go to the casino that weekend", Boswell said.
