Worcester County officials are reminding that before you recycle your Christmas tree, take off all of the ornaments and lights because they can jam up the county's equipment.

It was so attractive, that he went home and told his children that it reminded him of Jesus, who left the stars of heaven to come to earth at Christmas. Deborah Werner of the Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation says 'the money we dp gain, we put into our nursery fund'.

By combining forces with the Charlottesville Curb Side Pick-Up Program, the joint programs collected over 4200 trees a year ago, yielding approximately 201 cubic yards of mulch.

However, Christmas trees can build up sap that can be unsafe to burn indoors, and creosote that these trees produce isn't good for chimneys or exhausts. Port City Daily has compiled a list of local entities that will help residents dispose of used trees.

There will be four drop-off locations for NHC residents. "So we encourage all residents to bring your tree to one of our four locations in New Hanover County to be recycled".

In Pender County, trees can be disposed of starting December 30 until January 15 at locations in both Hampstaed and Rocky Point. Both the County and City programs require that all decorations, stands and nails be removed from the Christmas trees. If you couldn't afford a real plant, people made pyramids of woods and they would decorate to look like a tree with paper, apples and candles.

Trees can also be dropped off at any of the City's Refuse and Recycling Convenience Centers or composting facilities.
