Additionally, a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for parts of eastern and southwestern Montana until Saturday night. "The Advisory for Manistee, Benzie and Leelanau counties runs to noon for 3-6" of snow (locally 9" total).

Snow begins to hit the streets in the tri-state area, as a coating of 1-4 inches is expected, with the highest amounts expected on Long Island.

Portions of southwest Pennsylvania, east central OH, and the northern panhandle of West Virginia will be impacted. Highs Monday will only reach a solid 5° with wind chills during the day well below 0.


Heaviest snow should be late Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. The heavier amounts will likely be focused on the US 30 and Interstate 80 corridors, where snowfall rates of an inch or more per hour will lead to rapid accumulation and very poor visibility for the evening commute.

The National Weather Service is forecasting between two and three inches of snowfall in central Ohio.

The weather impact will be for the northern and southern Clearwater mountains, and the Bitteroot/Sapphire mountains.
