Terming the attack as "unfortunate", Vaid said as long as Pakistan keeps sending militants, security forces and people of Kashmir will continue to go through this. Seven jawans have been injured in this encounter, in which four have died and three have been injured.

Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti and two former CM and NC president and working president Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah have condoled the death of CRPF personnel.

The militants initially said to be two, barged into the Lethpora centre from the hillside and killed two CRPF men.

The heavily-armed men hurled grenades and opened fire, trying to enter the training camp located in Awantipora.

However, unconfirmed reports said one more militant was killed but bodies of only two have so far been recovered.

Reports said that at atleast three CRPF personnel were injured in militant attack who have been rushed to hospital.

He said intermittent firing was still on and one terrorist is believed to be holed up in building block. The CRPF 185 battalion is deployed in this training camp. Meanwhile, terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility for the Fidayeen attack on Lethpora CRPF camp. The terrorist organization says that they have done this to seek revenge for the assassination of commander Noor Trali.
