Other more than respectable features include OZO spatial audio recording, USB Type-C connectivity, a rear-mounted fingerprint reader helping the Nokia 6 (2018) trim its forerunner's height, a 3000 mAh battery, and premium aluminum unibody construction.

HMD Global has also addressed the complaint regarding the underpowered CPU. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel camera. The most visible change, however, is the relocation of the front-facing fingerprint scanner to the back.

There are options for 32GB or 64GB of storage, which is expandable via microSD up to 128GB.

Unlike the Nokia 6, that was launched a year ago with a fingerprint scanner on the home button, the new Nokia 6 (2018) is a reduced bezel smartphone having a fingerprint scanner on the back.

The phone boasts of a 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The Nokia 6 2018, on paper, supports Bluetooth 5.0 and fast charging (not sure whether it's Quick Charge 4 though) and comes with LPDDR4 RAM.


We've been anticipating the reveal of the Nokia 6 2018 for quite some time, and the second generation of Nokia's popular phone has just been revealed, featuring some pretty major upgrades when compared to its predecessor. As a result the second gen Nokia 6 measures 148.8 x 75.8 x 8.15mm (8.6mm thick at the camera), which more than 5mm shorter than the original one.

Elsewhere, the speaker setup on-board the original Nokia 6 came with dual amplifiers and support for Dolby Atmos sound technology.

Based on the newly-surfaced details, it seems that the new Nokia 6 (2018) will sport a slight redesign and a new chipset, but it will also share many specifications with its predecessor. The smartphone is priced starting at Yuan 1,499 (Rs 14,637 approx) for 32GB storage model and Yuan 1,699 (Rs 16,590 approx) for 64GB storage version.

China's Suning already begun to accept the pre-orders regarding the Nokia 6 (2018).

The report also claimed that the smartphone would be available for purchase exclusively through Amazon India at present. Dual-Sight, to recall, is a feature that lets a user to simultaneously use both the rear and front cameras to take stills/record videos.
