Quinnipiac Poll: Trump is intelligent but not level headed

According to a Quinnipiac University survey released Wednesday, 66 percent of voters said they believed the economy is "excellent" or "good"-a record high for the poll since it started asking the question in 2001".

The number of voters who disapprove is up from January 2017, when an Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll found voters split in their opinions of the president.

Now, almost a year into Trump's tenure at the White House, almost six-in-10 voters in Georgia hold an unfavorable view of the president.

Every day many Americans turn on the news or pick up a newspaper to see the Democrats on yet another rant against President Trump.

A plurality of 39% gave Trump an F grade, while 17% gave him a D.

"It's been a very tough freshman year for President Donald Trump by any measure", said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac poll.

Overall, the poll clocked Trump's approval rating at 36%, which has changed little during his first year in office.

Another 33 percent said the economy is "not so good" or "poor".

Even worse, an fantastic 57 percent of respondents said Trump is "not fit for office" and 69 percent said he isn't "level-headed".

The poll was conducted just after the release of Fire and Fury, the highly critical, tell-all book about Trump's first year in office, which depicts a chaotic White House and has been roundly denounced by the Trump administration.

Words most used to describe him are not "stable genius".

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.6 percentage points.

On the recently enacted Republican tax reform bill, voters disapprove of it, 52 to 32 percent.
