Everton complete Theo Walcott signing: Arsenal man moves north for £20m

Meanwhile Arsenal have offered a new deal to Jack Wilshere which includes lucrative incentives although the new offer is less than the current deal.

Everton are closing in on completing the signing of Arsenal forward Theo Walcott.

Arsenal manager Wenger personally sanctioned Walcott's departure in recognition of the 12 years' service the forward has given the Gunners since joining from the Saints in 2006.

The Gunners ace will want to be part of Gareth Southgate's England squad in Russian Federation for the worldwide tournament, and would certainly earn a decent amount of starts under Allardyce at Goodison Park.

"He's scored 100 goals for Arsenal from wide positions as well as many assists", Allardyce observed.

Should Walcott come through his medical without any problems, he will become Everton's second signing of the month following the arrival of Turkey global Cenk Tosun from Besiktas.

Bookmakers have now closed their markets on Walcott - who was odds-on to make the move to Everton at the start of this week.

Walcott is set to undergo a medical at the Goodison Park based club later today and is soon expected to join the Merseyside club.

Southampton are also said to be interested, but Everton are considered favourites for the 28-year-old.

"We are short of goals so to add power in our goalscoring ability would be very important for me".

Arsene Wenger's side are holding out for a flat fee of £35m and will look to replace the Chilean with Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has told the Bundesliga giants that he wants to leave the club this month.
