LeBron James would never join Warriors and risk his legacy

Not so fast on those Warriors rumors, LeBron James says.

But even if he doesn't believe the report, Durant was quick to point out that the idea of him signing with the Warriors seemed far-fetched before it happened, too.

As it was reported that LeBron James could listen to the Golden State Warriors during free agency if they're able to create max salary cap room, there have been a lot of reactions given by fans, players and some media personalities.

With that in mind, I talked to ESPN NBA Analyst Jeff Van Gundy, who will be on the call of Saturday's primetime game between the Cavs and Rockets. Earlier reports would even indicate that the Warriors tried to recruit LeBron back in 2014. "And then I thought about it I think it's doing, it's nonsense, and it's a non-story", James said.

And since I don't think Bob Myers or ownership would consider doing that for a 33-year James; this move will have to remain a fun hypothetical.

Having dropped two of the last three NBA Finals to the Warriors as a member of the Cavaliers, James is evaluating the possibility of joining Golden State, according to an ESPN report. "If it's not from me, it's not true".

Please, for the rest of the season, don't ask me about nothing else.

He continued, "I don't give a damn how close they are [as a source], I don't care if it's my kids, or my wife or whatever. I will handle my summer situation when my summer gets here, and I will not handle it now".

The award, which recognizes "an National Basketball Association player each month who best reflects the passion that the league and its players share for giving back to their communities", was presented to James for "providing educational resources and opportunities to improve the lives of children and families in Akron and the greater Cleveland area".

"I know exactly how it works", he said.

For starters, the Warriors have no chance to sign James outright as a free agent due to their current payroll. All that would be put at risk if James went to the Warriors. With Golden State, an ultra-aggressive general manager in Bob Myers, the ownership group as a whole and coach Steve Kerr are the epitome of that.
