Although the offer has been acknowledged by Leicester, neither the club nor Mahrez have yet to reach out to the players' union for help.

Since then, Mahrez has failed to attend training and was not involved in either of their last two games while he is not expected to feature in the trip to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. It is important that he gets back to playing even to be well in the national team.

Riyad Mahrez's strike has been getting global coverage since his first failure to show up at the Foxes' training, and as the situation continues, there's more to be commented on.

Manchester City have reportedly decided not to make a fresh bid for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez when the transfer window opens this summer.

So will Leicester acquiesce to Mahrez's fresh demands?

"If they don't want to sell him, he has to get on with it".

City were willing to negotiate a £65m package for Mahrez that included a player heading in the opposite direction.

Leicester have failed to win both games without Mahrez and his -continued absence is threatening to damage their hopes of securing Europa League football next season.

Claude Puel's side appear in high spirits ahead of this weekends highly anticipated meeting with Manchester City.

Mahrez now rakes in £100,000-a-week at the King Power Stadium and club officials are trying to facilitate his return to the squad.

After a dip in form last term, Mahrez has looked almost back to his best again in 2017-18, especially since the appointment of Claude Puel as manager in October.

That's unclear, and many football fans may be urging the Foxes owners to reject Mahrez's position, as the alternative would be to show that player power still trumps contracts in football.
