The Gabon global scored on his debut in Arsenal's 5-1 win over Everton on Saturday as Mkhitaryan recorded a hat-trick of assists in a convincing home victory.

Aubameyang's pace and movement tormented the Everton defence as he netted with a composed first-half finish, while Mkhitaryan's range of passing provided three assists as he linked up with fellow playmaker Mesut Ozil to devastating effect.

They agree Arsenal won the January transfer window, but does that mean they'll return to the UEFA Champions League next season?

Before kick-off in north London, even that target seemed further away than ever.

Having joined United for £30m from Dortmund in 2016, the Armenian's 18-month spell at Old Trafford fizzled out rapidly after a promising start to life in the Premier League.

Alderweireld has already faced Aubameyang when Tottenham beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in September, and while the striker drew a blank that day, he scored in both of Dortmund's Europa League wins over Spurs in 2016, games the Belgium worldwide also played in.

Aubameyang's goalscoring record at Dortmund was impressive, 98 goals in 144 Bundesliga appearances, but Wenger also knows that does not guarantee goals in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger understands players more than Jose Mourinho, according to new Arsenal recruit Henrikh Mkhitaryan. I think Arsenal would say: "we'd have you next season".

"If he stays right at the top there and let him get on with it, then why do you want touches when you've got [Mesut] Ozil, Mkhitaryan and all those players?"

Lacazette must now battle Aubameyang to be Arsenal's number nine.

But recently Mkhitaryan has made a decision to take on that role. Santi was an exceptional football player. "He will be a bit sharper on Saturday than he was last week", Wenger said.

"We want them focusing on how we want to play the game, tactically and technically".
