While most of the proposed upgrades for Fortnite seem to focus on the game's popular Battle Royale mode, it appears that Epic still considers the base Fortnite experience to be popular enough to justify keeping up with moving forward.

We were not able to stay ahead of our continued growth and multiple of our backend services have been struggling under load the last several weeks.

Fortnite, with 3.4 million concurrent players over the first weekend of February, broke the record held by PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds for the most number of players at the same time, which was set at the turn of 2018 with 3.2 million concurrent players. So is Fortnite Battle Royale any different?

Developers also plan to experiment with larger team modes and games where players have less time between each circle.

And, according to a post on the Fortnite Reddit, a Epic Games representative confirmed to one fan that patch V.2.5.0 would not be out today.

They have also announced their plans to release a 60 frames per second (fps) functionality for "Battle Royale" on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, and Xbox One X. This 60-fps mode will be fine-tuned for each system in order to maximize performance without sacrificing too much visual fidelity.

Fortnite Battle Royale is not afraid of removing weapons after adding them if it means the overall balance improves.

Finally, they have added more servers for the West Coast and have plans to add Brazilian servers for the Xbox copy of the game. Right now the developers are prototyping some brand new weapon types and consumables, along with expanding the melee types in the game.

Epic Games " Fortnite" continues to grow at an alarming rate, and the developers are getting ready to scale appropriately.

Additional quality of life improvements are on the way as well, with improved voice chat, improved UI functionality for building on the home consoles, and respawning from the death screen.
