Warren Insists That She's Not Running for President

The latest interest in questioning whether or not Warren has her sights set on a 2020 run is the result of Donald Trump, who mentioned that "ratings" would go down if her or Bernie Sanders were to run for president at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. Instead of asking how much part Native American, Acosta tried to set her up to complain about President Trump.

Warren sought to move past questions about her background last month in an address to the National Congress of American Indians.

"That's the story that my brothers and I all learned from our mom and our dad, from our grandparents", Warren said. Warren reiterated her initial claim, adding that she has "no intention" of running for president. "Never got any benefit from it anywhere".

It appears Senator Elizabeth Warren will not be throwing her hat into the presidential ring in 2020.

"My mother and daddy were born and raised in Oklahoma", Warren said.

'His family was bitterly opposed to their relationship because she was part Native American, ' Warren told Todd during the segment.

US Senator Elizabeth Warren refused to say whether she would serve a full six-year term if reelected to the Senate this year under persistent questioning from NBC's Chuck Todd.

When Todd asked her why she is against knowing the results for sure, Warren replied: 'I do know. I never used my family tree to get a break or get ahead.

"Look, I do know".

Although questions over her claims of Native American ancestry have continued to dog U.S. Sen.

She said she wanted to turn the incident into a positive and try and lift up other people to tell their stories.

Warren's 2018 senatorial opponent, Dr. V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai (I-Mass.), sent her a DNA test kit for her birthday in 2017, but claimed it was "returned to sender". "More than half of all native women have been the victims of sexual violence", she said. "That is just fundamentally wrong".

Warren also did not explicitly rule out a 2020 presidential bid but said she is focused on reelection to her Senate seat this year and on supporting party-building efforts across the country. We need to bring some attention to it and we need to put some resources on it.
