Amazon has brought Alexa calls and messaging to tablets

Amazon recently made it easier for Alexa users to ask follow-up questions.

"We are changing that phrase to be "Alexa, can you laugh?' which is less likely to have false positives, and we are disabling the short utterance 'Alexa, laugh".

To indicate that Alexa is listening after completing her utterance, the blue light will be displayed for a few seconds.

The update follows the introduction of a new messaging feature for Alexa devices in the United States, which will allow users to send SMS messages to their friends and other contacts. As usual, saying "stop", "cancel" or "go to sleep" will stop Alexa from listening. The Amazon Echo interactive speakers and visual display models previously only worked with one another to make and accept calls. In order to use this functions on Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet, you just need to speak to the Alexa regarding the same. For other Alexa-enabled Fire tablets, you are simply required to tap the home button first, while other users are required to open the Alexa app. You can easily make voice and video calls to any connected devices without disturbing the other one. This means that the regular Echo speaker could not make these video calls but the Echo Spot would be able to make video calls. According to Cnet.com Amazon has given Alexa the most useful, and the most sensible update. Today, Amazon has announced the feature to tablets including iPads, Android tablets, and of course its own Fire tablets.
