"The Saint Joseph's University community is heartbroken tonight to learn from the Bermuda Police Services (BPS) in Hamilton that student Mark Dombroski has died".

Police said there is concern for Dombroski's wellbeing.

Authorities on the British island territory of Bermuda are searching for a 19-year-old college student from Pennsylvania who was last seen at a bar around midnight Sunday.

Police appealed for the public's help Monday and fellow rugby players joined the search for an American college student reported missing in Bermuda at the end of an worldwide tournament. The team was scheduled to return to the US on Sunday, but it is unclear if they made the trip, according to NBC10 in Philadelphia. "We thank the citizens of Bermuda".

Investigators have not ruled out foul play.

Surveillance cameras had shown him walking east after visiting with his teammates in the tavern.


"He wasn't in a celebratory kind of mood", Lisa Dombroski said.

The rugby team was in Bermuda to take part in the Ariel Re Bermuda International 7's Tournament, which included college teams from around the U.S.

Police are asking anyone who has "witnessed these incidents" or has information on Dombroski's whereabouts to call their respective police station or the Crimestoppers Hotline at 1-800-623-8477.

Bermuda police confirmed on Monday afternoon that they had found Dombroski's body but did not announce a cause of death.

Saint Joseph's issued a statement saying it "continues to pray for his safe return".
