Katy Perry Takes Subtle Dig at Taylor Swift on American Idol

On a per-episode basis, Katy Perry may be the most headline-grabbing judge in American Idol history. If you need a recap, it all started way back in 2012, when Taylor Swift accused Katy Perry of stealing her backup dancers from her Red album tour.

On Sunday night's American Idol, after Jonny Brenns admitted that he had lied to his parents about where he was, the judges told him to call his mama and tell her where he has been. First, she made the media rounds for falling down and accidentally flashing the other judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

"I love Taylor Swift", the contestant added.

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift's feud is one of the most famous in Hollywood history.

"I love her as a songwriter, as well", she said.

"Oh, you don't have to be sorry", Perry said. But by specifying she loves Tay "as a songwriter", she's also implying she really doesn't like her as a person.

There's been another update on the feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry and people can't quite work out if any shade has been thrown. Fans suspected that Taylor's Bad Blood video was aimed at Katy and that Katy's Swish Swish lyrics were about Taylor.

The contestant then awkwardly chose to apologize to Perry for admitting to be inspired by Swift.

This past year Perry released "Swish Swish" which fans think is about Swift.

"She did something so frightful", Swift told Rolling Stone.

I tried to talk to her about it, and she wouldn't speak to me. I think it's actually like, I think it's time. Karma. There's the law of cause and effect: you do something, there's going to be a reaction.

The two have been fighting back and forth ever since.

So what's the tea Perry? When I'm not scrolling through various timeline's I'm researching skin care regiments and watching the Cleveland Cavaliers.
