Aldon Smith Arrested Again

Troubled former Raiders and 49ers player Aldon Smith turned himself into San Francisco Police early Friday morning and was arrested, according to a statement from SFPD. When police arrived to respond to a 911 call, Smith was gone, leading police to issue an arrest warrant.

Following the domestic violence incident, Smith's fiancee told TMZ Sports she hopes he gets the help he needs.

When Smith, 28, contacted the alleged victim, police issued a warrant for his arrest. "This morning Mr. Smith, surrendered himself to SVU investigators and will be processed for the warrant and three counts of misdemeanor violation of a protective/stay away order".

Officers first began investigating after someone reported to police around 8:30 p.m. on March 3rd that Smith was involved in a domestic violence incident.

Three days later he turned himself in and was booked in San Francisco Jail.

He was charged with domestic violence, assault, false imprisonment and vandalism, and was issued a protective order from contacting the victim.

He had been on the suspended list since late 2015 for violating the NFL's policy on substance abuse.

Smith was a first-round pick of the 49ers in 2011 and a first-team All-Pro in 2012, but he has had numerous off-field incidents.

We broke the story. the former National Football League star had been arrested and charged with 4 misdemeanors - including domestic violence - after allegedly beating up his fiancee on March 3.

The Raiders released Smith that same day.
