How Prince William and Kate Middleton Broke Royal Protocol This Weekend

Kate, 36, was greeted at the chapel with Prince William by her side. In fact, the only time we've since Prince George on Easter was in 2014 when he was in Australia on an Australia-New Zealand tour with his parents. She wore a dark coat, earrings and a pin made with enormous pearls, and a brown fascinator-like hat adorned with a big bow.

George and Charlotte weren't the only members of the royal family to skip Easter service-Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were also absent this morning.

The Duke of Edinburgh has been forced to pull out of attending the service.

As for how we'll know when the trendsetting mom goes into labor, Kensington Palace is expected to announce that Middleton has been admitted to St. Mary's in London when it happens, if they handle the news the same way that they did when Prince George and Princess Charlotte were born.

However, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Prince Philip were noticeably missing.

"The Queen asked: 'Have you had lots of Easter eggs?'" Deborah Carleston, the mother of Madeline, recounts to People.

The outlet also noted that Prince Harry hasn't attended the event with the Queen in years, suggesting that it may be optional for family members to attend.

The 96-year-old Duke is said to be suffering from a hip problem, but he has been seen driving around the Windsor Estate last week.

The Royal Family attends Easter service. The Duchess of Cambridge, who is expecting her third child in April, paired a stylish yet demure black Catherine Walker coat with a matching Lock & Co hat, pearl accessories and nude heels, while William donned a navy blue suit.

Other guests at the service included Prince Andrew and his daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, as well as William's uncle Prince Edward, his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and their children, Lady Louise Windsor and James Viscount Severn.

On March 22 Kate made her final public engagement before giving birth.
