Firefighters battling house fire on Anderson Street

Crews responded to a structure fire at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Hotel in White Hall Friday afternoon.

The homeowner said her kids and grandkids all got out safely.

Residents of the house were inside at the start of the fire and noticed the lights were flickering. Guest said he thinks three dogs died.

Floyd County Emergency Management tells WHAS11 that the fire is being fueled in part by one thing. Camanche Fire and the Clinton Police Department also assisted.

By 5 p.m. the fire was under control and crews were cleaning up and moving out of the area.


"We're quite proud of that firefighter", said divisional fire chief Dave Meldrum.

Two Oklahoma City children were rushed to a hospital Saturday morning after they were pulled from a burning house by firefighters.

Damage was estimated between $60,000 and $80,000 to the home and contents, which included antiques.

There was no word on a cause of the fire, if more information becomes available we will bring it to you.
