Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Harry Kane are among those leading the charge for the Player of the Year awards, the PFA have confirmed.

Kane, 24, and Sane, 22, were also nominated for PFA Young Player of the Year along with Raheem Sterling, Ederson, Marcus Rashford and Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon.

The PFA awards will be revealed in a ceremony later in April.

Mohamed Salah has been in sensational form Liverpool this season, having registered 29 goals and five assists in the Premier League this season.

For Player of The Year, Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Liverpool winger, Mohammed Salah, are favourites.

German global Sane has been directly involved in 21 goals this season for City, scoring nine times and adding a further 12 assists, which is second only to De Bruyne.

Of the other contenders, Tottenham's Harry Kane has banged in 25 Premier League goals this season in yet another impressive campaign.

He has scored 39 goals and 11 assists in 44 games in all competitions in his first season at the Anfield.

Egyptian superstar Salah has chalked up 29 goals in only 31 league matches for Jurgen Klopp's side in his first season back in England's top flight, and now leads the scoring charts - ahead of second-placed Kane - by four goals.

Premier League legend Alan Shearer has given his backing to the Liverpool star to take the top prize and believes the Champions League tie between City and the Merseysiders to be the deciding factor.

His City counterpart Ederson has proved to be an excellent addition for his club after the position proved a problem for manager Pep Guardiola last season.

Sterling has scored 16 league goals and claimed eight assists, with Sane's ratio nine and 12.

Sessegnon is the youngest player on the list at 17.

Sane has had a season interrupted by injury, but is one of the league's best young players, which is the reason for the double nomination. He has been instrumental in Fulham's push to reach the Premier League, scoring 14 times in the Championship.
