Earlier last week, she also shared a black and white photo of half of her face while forgoing a caption.

Carrie Underwood posted the first close-up photo of her face Saturday night ahead of her performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards. McEntire has now returned and she told Us Weekly that, "Since I had turned that duty over to Blake [Shelton] and Luke [Bryan] and then Luke and Dierks [Bentley], they just came back around and asked if I would be interested".

In the same post, she announced her upcoming album and new single, "Cry Pretty", which she co-wrote with songwriters, Hillary Lindsey, Liz Rose, and Lori McKenna.

"Getting ready for the weekend", she captioned the shot, along with hashtags "#CryPretty #ACMawards". She also called it a silver liner to this autumn outside her Nashville house in November that compelled her to get nearly fifty stitches.

She provided her fans an update last week, saying her wrist is almost back to normal and her face "has been healing pretty nicely" after receiving nearly 50 stitches from the fall. "I am determined to make 2018 awesome and I want to share things with you along the way", she said. "My wrist is nearly back to normal, about 90% there ... and the docs say that last 10% will come in time". She called it a silver lining to the fall. "Along with my head has been healing well too", Underwood composed.

"Occasionally I think in order to make us decelerate things happen". "I undoubtedly really feel extra like myself than I've shortly". "It also means I've been home to support my favorite hockey player coming out of retirement!" "But, listen, Carrie Underwood's going to be as attractive as ever". The Female Vocalist of the Year award nominees are Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Maren Morris and Carrie Underwood. Male Vocalist of the Year nominees include Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, Chris Young and Keith Urban.

While Underwood took to lying low in the months since as she recovered, she recently made her way back into the spotlight.
