Isco hopes Cristiano Ronaldo stays at Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane shock

Cristiano Ronaldo has made a decision to leave Real Madrid and is set to make a sensational return to Manchester United in a £131m deal this summer, according to reports in Spain via TeamTalk.

It broke in Portugal this morning that Ronaldo has chose to call time on his career at Real.

Meanwhile, United continue to be linked with a move for his Madrid teammate Gareth Bale.

Madrid president Florentino Perez has often pointed to Ronaldo's current contract running until June 2021 as evidence that the Portugal captain has a long term commitment to the club.

His biggest problem with Madrid is not purely down to money though, he's understood to be furious at their pursuit of PSG star Neymar.

Ronaldo himself has not spoken publicly about the situation since those comments in Kiev, apart from the following day's "see you next year" message to fans celebrating the Champions League success back in Madrid.

Ronaldo reportedly fears the Brazilian is being signed as his replacement.

In any case, Ronaldo is definitely doing his best to play up to the rumours.

At the end of last month, the Frenchman left his post as Los Blancos manager, which came as a surprise to many as it came just days after he oversaw Real's UEFA Champions League final win over Liverpool.

Ronaldo has had nine seasons at the Bernabeu and has enjoyed tremendous success after leaving United in 2009.

"It was very nice to be in Madrid", Ronaldo told reporters.

Jorge Mendes has been contacted by the Portugal global - who is now training with his compatriots ahead of this summer's World Cup.

It is still uncertain that Antoine Griezmann will move to FC Barcelona this summer.
