Jada Pinkett Smith: 'I was hooked on self-pleasure at 17'

Jada Pinkett Smith has been keeping it as real as ever on new Facebook series, Red Table Talk.

In "Sex Talk! Personal Stories From Three Generations", Smith openly speaks about sex, DM-sliding etiquette, and hookup culture with Gammy, Willow, and Willow's best friend Telana Lynum.

The actress said she was giving "herself multiple orgasms" by Willow's age, and admitting that "I actually think I went through kind of an addiction with it". I never talk about it because it was such a short, weird point in my life, but you have to pull yourself out of it.

Jada revealed she learned the tricks of self-exploration from her grandmother when she was just nine-years-old.

"One thing I've learned in my life over the years is that mental health is something we should practice daily, not just when issues arise", she wrote. "You're having five orgasms a day, '" she added.

She also revealed that it was her grandmother who taught Jada how to pleasure herself. "She didn't want me to fall into the hands of a man and if he gave me pleasure to think that pleasure came from him".

The 17-year-old acknowledged that she knew she "overstepped a boundary" and that she "wasn't supposed to be there", likening it to walking in on her mom meditating, a time when you "don't get in her business".

Jada explains that many people may not understand the struggle, but she does, and she is grateful that she made her way through her own struggles. "I just didn't have that". "And even though I see how it might have hurt you, it's what I knew". Pinkett Smith said she too has dealt with suicidal thoughts and has spent years "healing". "I did do a lot of things differently and you got to do a lot of things in this house that Jaden did not". "You can create so much pleasure, you just constantly want it". Jada, genuinely shocked to discover that this was her daughter's introduction to sex, asked Willow to clarify.

Pinkett Smith shared even more revelatory facts about her famous family, including that her "mother's intuition" meant she knew the night her son, Jaden Smith, 19, lost his virginity.

Deciding when and how to teach kids about sex is one of the longest-standing and most controversial parenting conundrums.

Jaden, who's now dating 18-year-old Odessa Adlon, appeared on a Red Table Talk episode earlier this week, where his penchant for wearing skirts was a topic of discussion, as he said his motivation for doing that was to set himself apart from the pack. I was like, 'Oh my God, this is so insane.
