India were runaway winners in Wednesday's opening T20I, scoring 208/5 in their 20 overs, with Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan contributing 97 and 74 runs, respectively before wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal shared seven wickets between themselves to restrict Ireland to 132/9. This will be the first bilateral T20I involving Ireland and India. In addition to allowing their opening pair to get more match practice, they will also be able to test out KL Rahul in the middle-order, something that critics feel India ought to do to fill in the void at number 4. The live stream will be available on Sony Liv. The English summer is going to be a big test for the Asian giants who have dominated across all three formats over the last few years.

For Ireland, skipper Gary Wilson, former captain William Porterfield and all-rounder Kevin O'Brien are the ones to have T20 experience against an Indian team.

Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who picked up 3-38 Wednesday, suggested that the team did not read too much into England's unbeaten performances in the five-match one day worldwide series and the one-off T20 match against Australia.

The third-ranked T20I team are expected to thrash their 17th-ranked opponents but the short series will provide India much-needed time to get their combinations right.

"We will have the same positive mindset we had for the first game and I definitely expect us to get closer to India".

On the bowling front, Kohli will be tempted to field both leg-spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, giving them an early taste of conditions here.

Ireland is not exactly out of it, they will still have a chance to level the series when the two sides meet in the second and final T20 to be played on Friday.

MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya came in at the fall of the next two wickets before Kohli made a decision to go in with just three balls remaining.
