On Thursday, Instagram launched a feature that lets users add clips of songs to their stories.

To celebrate, the app is adding a feature that's likely to generate a lot of excitement among its Stories-loving users: the ability to add musical soundtracks to your posts.

The music feature on the app is now only available for IOS, but a version for the Android will be coming soon.

You can hear a preview and then choose the exact part of the song that best fits your story.

For the first time, you'll finally be able to further liven up your Stories by soundtracking uploads with your favorite tunes.

The Facebook-owned company says there are thousands of songs in Instagram's library of licensed soundtracks that you can choose from, with the service promising to add more music each day.

Another day, another new feature addition to Instagram. The songs can also be manipulated to include specific parts in the posted content, along with the option of being added before or after the creation of the story. The ability to choose a song before capturing video is now iOS only.

If you use Instagram, there's a good chance you've tried out Stories, which lets you send timely updates to your followers in photo or video form.

Android support is rolling out soon, it added.

The Intagram's stories feature is nearly two-years-old and recently hit 400 million users worldwide.

The feature is now available only in a few selected countries and Instagram is working towards launching the feature in more countries.
