Trump claims ‘business relationship’ with Mueller

Washington D. C., July 30: United States (US) President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 US Presidential Election.

"No collusion" - it's a defense President Trump has used against allegations that his campaign worked with Russian Federation to win the 2016 presidential election.

Trump has denied wrongdoing, and has called the Mueller probe as a Democratic "witch hunt". "That's up to the president and Mueller to describe, it's not part of my legal representation".

"What you really care about is what information Mr. Manafort could give you that would reflect on Mr. Trump or lead to his prosecution or impeachment", Judge T.S. Ellis III said. However, former FBI Chief of Staff Chuck Rosenberg pointed out yesterday on MSNBC, that collusion is " absolutely a crime".

He later told CNN: "The hacking is the crime".

Giuliani said Mueller is "not entitled" to ask any questions about obstruction of justice, since the president was authorized under the Constitution to remove FBI Director James Comey. "The president didn't hack", Giuliani said on CNN. "President Trump did nothing wrong", he wrote. However, even Gollum knew in his heart that stealing was a crime, so perhaps he could teach Giuliani a thing or two about what is or isn't illegal.

Giuliani also said Mueller has "conflicts of interest".

Giuliani said there are about a dozen recordings "of substance" made by Cohen.

Giuliani told The Daily Beast that this included reporters from The New York Times, such as the paper's star Trump reporter Maggie Haberman, who had reached out about the alleged pre-meeting meeting.

CNBC noted Mueller in 2011 ended his membership at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia after a fee dispute.

Manafort's trial, in which he faces charges on 18 counts of violating tax and banking laws, is a high-profile test of the Mueller team's investigation into Russian election interference in 2016. Friendly Fox News anchors agreed.

Dershowitz said to pay attention to whether the prosecution hints at Manafort's relationship with Trump. Cohen a year ago testified to two congressional committees on Russian election interference and did not say Trump had advance knowledge of the meeting, a source told CNN.

Giuliani's retreat does little to help his or the President's credibility, but it was already near rock bottom with the series of factual misstatements and legally preposterous assertions that have been his modus operandi since rejoining Team Trump.
