It is claimed it would be complicated if Liverpool chose to resurrect their move for Fekir having flagged up concerns over an old knee problem.

Injuries to Klavan and Matip had left Klopp with only two fit central defenders for the game against Napoli over the weekend, but Lovren's return to the fold gives the German an additional option for Sunday's match.

The 29-year-old could come into contention for Liverpool's final pre-season fixture against Torino on Tuesday, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez the only senior centre-backs now fit and available.

"Very cool with the ball as we saw in the pre-season games when he played in front of 100,000 and 60,000 he wasn't bothered about that, and that's a very important skill". "Klavan, shouldn't be too serious, but if Tuesday is too early, I don't know yet", mused the German manager, hinting at a tactical reshuffle.

Jurgen Klopp has the funds at his disposal to further strengthen his Liverpool FC squad this summer, according to reporter James Pearce.

Klopp hails Cork's Kelleher as 'outstanding talent'

"I thought he looked very comfortable and I think we adapted to him quite easily".

"But it's not that that means for us that we give them for free or something like that, Liverpool is strong enough to keep all these players and then we deal with that".

Fekir, who returned to Lyon training this week, is however keeping his cards close to his chest and is yet to make a commitment on his future amid rumours Liverpool are ready to table an offer before the English transfer window slams shut this week.

"Obviously that is a different thing".

"He can still play as the eight or we could play some games with a double six, Fabinho could play the eight or whatever, that's all possible. It is like that a bit for the other teams but I'm not sure for West Ham and Crystal Palace".
