Fahrenheit 11/9 hits theaters on September 21.

Moore, an Academy Award-winning director, is helming the film.

Moore, who is known for his antagonistic style, calls Trump the "last president of the United States" and follows his election campaign in 2016, his first year in office, and how Trump's victory has led to division and confrontation in the U.S. over issues of immigration, the far right, fake news, and white supremacy. "This is the movie that will end the madness". November 9th was, of course, the day the Associated Press called the election for Trump.

In the first footage from the film, we see Moore speak to Parkland student and activist David Hogg and rising Democratic star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Given how so much of Donald Trump's presidency is being played out on screens and online, it seems nearly pointless at this stage to have a documentary on him when the story hasn't even finished playing itself out yet.

Moore explained the motivations behind his new doc, which is set to premiere at this year's Toronto International Film Festival, in an interview with HuffPost, as well.

And you don't need a Michael Moore documentary to tell you that; American social and political division is apparent on the nation's news channels which, in unison, have become a cacophany of opinion, spin and argument. But months before that infamous night, Moore had already begun ruminating on what could be done to stop the, according to him, "carnage Trump would inflict while president". They're getting steamrolled by a tyrant because Trump understands media and understands the country he lives in more than those that cover him do.

He added that: "If nothing else, I hope this film exposes that grave danger and shows people the way out".

Fahrenheit 11/9 opens on September 21.
